Give credit to Gruden and McKay

I've kept quiet all year. Someone said recently that coach Jon Gruden's and general manager Rich McKay's jobs should be on the line, so my silence is over. Get over it, anti-Buc fans. The Bucs are good, very good. And Gruden and McKay are a big part of it. Management isn't normally fired when a team has the best record in the league.

I don't know why everyone seems to be turning on the Bucs. They are in first place out of all the teams. But each time someone writes about them, it is always, Warren Sapp is not doing good or Keyshawn Johnson can't make a catch. They have been doing good. Gruden is doing a great job. Write about their good aspects, not their bad ones.

The Bucs have a first down on the opponent's 3-yard line. In comes No.40 as a single setback. Who gets the ball? You guessed right, as did everyone in the stands plus the opposition. Next time, try a fake to No.40 with a rollout option.

Why is it that the running backs are blamed for not being able to run the ball when it is the Bucs' offensive line that is inconsistent? Stop knocking the running backs because when given any hole, any one of them is capable of going all the way. If I had to choose, Mike Alstott is my favorite player. But I would go with Aaron Stecker as he seems to be able to make more long runs on his own. Alstott needs one little hole to get his momentum going. Then he is almost impossible to bring down. Michael Pittman needs to learn how to be patient and let a hole develop.

This game was billed as another coronation for Michael Vick, the elusive and lightning-fast quarterback who had been breaking the mold of methodical, pocket-passing quarterbacks. The young Falcons and Vick had been soaring so high that they were considered the perfect test for this superb Bucs defense.
Vick might even embarrass them, some people thought. Afterward, Vick looked schooled.
