Anna Lisa Drummond, Brandon
Drummond, 10, won the best all-around championship for level 8 in the regionals April 12-13 in Baton Rouge, La. She scored 37.725 in the meet against gymnasts from eight states. Drummond also won gold medals in the floor exercises and on the balance beam. A fifth-grader at Immanuel Lutheran School, she trains at Bay City Gymnastics in Riverview.
Nia Dillard, Riverview
Dillard, 16, won the regional gold medal in the vault in competition for Level 8 gymnasts with a score of 9.70. Gymnasts from eight states competed in the regional championships April 12-13 in Baton Rouge, La. Dillard, a sophomore at Riverview High, trains at Bay City Gymnastics in Riverview.
Ashley Quaid, Valrico
Quaid, 18, was selected the Female Soccer Player of the Year for Hillsborough County. The Bloomingdale High senior was chosen by area high school coaches on April 17. Her outstanding play and a GPA of 5.18 helped her earn a full scholarship to the University of South Florida.
