CELEBRATION OF READING: The ninth annual Hernando County Reading Festival will be from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the West Hernando/S.T. Foggia Branch Library, 6335 Blackbird Ave. The free event will include games, face painting, storytelling, clowns and a book fair. Visitors will include cartoon characters Franklin and Clifford, BayNews 9 meteorologist Mike Clay, authors Marianne Berkes and Betty G. Birney, and storyteller Windell Campbell. The first 300 children will receive goody bags, and door prizes will be awarded. Food will be available for purchase. The festival is part of Hernando County's Literacy Week activities. HERITAGE CELEBRATION: The Hernando Historical Museum will have its Heritage Day Festival from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the May-Stringer Museum, 601 Museum Court, Brooksville.
