Pinellas Park student earns Dean's List honors

Angela Joy Kneblik, daughter of James P. and Debi Kneblik of Pinellas Park, was named to the Dean's List at Pensacola Christian College for the fall 2000 semester.

A 1998 graduate of Heritage Private School in St. Petersburg, Angela is a member of the chamber choir. She is pursuing a degree in nursing.

Dixie Hollins graduate earns premedical degree

Holly S. Prokop, daughter of John and Laura Prokop of St. Petersburg, graduated with honors from the University of Florida College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. She received a bachelor of science degree in microbiology and cell science.

Holly was a member of the Premedical American Medical Student Association; Preprofessional Service Organization; Microbiology Club; and Golden Key National Honor Society.

She volunteered in the pediatrics department at Shands hospital at the University of Florida, Gainesville, and participated in community service projects including Habitat for Humanity.

A 1997 graduate and co-salutatorian of Dixie Hollins High School, she plans to become a pediatrician.

Boca Ciega High student attends inaugural events

Hayley Humphrey, daughter of Cynthia and James Humphrey of St. Petersburg, joined nearly 500 high school students from across the country and abroad at the presidential inauguration festivities Jan. 18 through 25.

Hayley, a junior at Boca Ciega High School, went to Washington, D.C., at the recommendation of her history teacher, Jeff Henson, and Boca Ciega principal Barbara Paonessa.

In addition to witnessing the swearing-in ceremony, she attended the inaugural parade and an inaugural ball. She met with U.S. Sens. Bob Graham and Bill Nelson and participated in workshops focusing on human rights and education policy.

She also toured the White House and visited the Smithsonian Institute and the capitol's monuments.
